This article is written for the ordinary citizen, those of us that leave the security of our home and go about our day without any thought of getting into or causing trouble, minding our own business so to speak and just plain ole being a good community member. Unfortunately, there are times when society puts us in an uncompromising position, whether it is being a victim of road rage, a drunk becoming aggressive when arguing with you about his favorite sports team, an attempted robbery or a host of any other combative or aggressive situations. The bottom line is that you did not go looking for a fight it just presented itself. Whether we feel our actions are right or wrong we are still subject to the law and it’s important that our actions stay within the confines of those laws. Hopefully this paper will shed some light on your rights and what the proper response should be should you fall victim of such a situation. (
