2009 WORLD STICKFIGTING CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS!

The Filipino Martial Arts is really spreading quite rapidly around the world, and another aspect of the Filipino culture is the various Filipino Fighting Art systems that have spread is still a growing sport here in Australia, and it is called Filipino Full Contact Sport Stickfighting.
Here is a brief report on how the art has been kept alive here in Australia.
Grand Master Martin Gardiner of Alice Springs Martial Arts Club brought Doce Pares to Australia in the 1980’s, and he has instructed many world champion fighters like Grand Master Vince Palumbo who is delegated as the Chief Representative for Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima in Australia, and Master Craig Bajraktarevic-Hayward who is the Chief Instructor for the East Coast Doce Pares Institute in Sydney, and Grand Master Anthony Kleeman who was formerly living in the town of Alice Springs in Central Australia, but is now instructing in the USA: http://www.DPFAS.com).
And there is the brother of GM Martin Gardiner, his name is Master Glen Gardiner, and he has spread this art to Inodnesia, and he is the Chief Instructor teaching at the Combined Martial Arts Academy in Jakarta.
In 2007, Combined Martial Arts Academy hosted the 75th Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima World Championships!
The 2009 Cacoy Doce Pares World Eskrima World Federation – Filipino Stickfighting Championships was held on April 24th, 25th and 26th in Cebu City of the Philippines.
The Australian Team was led by Grand Master Vincent Palumbo of the International Combative Martial Arts Academy in Adelaide, and he brought 16 competitors in his team, they were joined by the East Coast Doce Pares Institute (ECDPI) team from Sydney, with their 4 competitors led by their Chief Instructor and team leader Master Craig Bajraktarevic-Hayward of Guildford in Sydney.
Also present was Master Dominic Lavalle from Wollongong in New South Wales of Australia, so he and his 3 competitors were from the Reflex Martial Arts Cente.
The Australian Team consisted of 24 members from the three C.D.P.E.W.F. affilliate clubs!
