JOSEPH B WALKER
Mr. Joseph B. Walker is a Lieutenant in the Reno
Police Department and has served with
distinction as Watch Commander, Detective
Sergeant in Internal Affairs, Instructor
to Defensive Tactics Instructors, Honor
Guard and DARE officer. He has served
in the Dignitary Protection unit, providing sole responsibility
for the safety of President Gerald
Ford, Merle Evers-Williams, Bernice King and
Martin Luther King III. Mr. Walker
has received numerous advanced law enforcement
credentials from the FBI, LAPD, Los
Angeles Sheriff, and developed, with FBI approval, the Washoe County
School Violence Preparedness program.
Walker has studied and taught martial arts and
self defense since the early 1970's and
holds two World Championship Karate titles.
Mr. Walker provides outstanding instruction
in the martial arts, with a unique perspective
on the true practical applications in
the use of force. A qualified personal
safety specialist, he is also as eighth-degree black belt in karate
and President of the Kifaru Karate Organization. He devised the
school safety contingency plan for the Washoe County School district
and authored the Stalking Guide for Law Enforcement
Officers for the Reno Police Department.

He enjoys spending time with his family,
teaching and training in the martial arts and performing music.
