PROFESSOR LUIS MORALES
Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate

Luis Morales was born on March 23, 1958. As a
child he was fascinated with the martial arts, spending many hours
reading the various karate publications such as Black Belt Magazine.
His first real exposure to the Martial Arts came
when he was only 8 years old. A family friend introduced him to
a Ju Jutsu style called Miyama Ryu. Not knowing that this was the
path the The Most High has chosen for him, at the age of 12 years
old, during a school lunch break, Sensei Morales was attacked by
five older boys. No one came to his aid. It was then that he made
the decision that would change his life -- he began his formal
training in Budo.
Sensei Morales has dedicated his life to the study
of Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate and due to his relentless pursuit has
a profound knowledge of its Kata and it's Bunkai. He teaches karate
as a complete system, including the essential, but little known,
aspects of Tuidi (grab hand) and Kyusho Jutsu (vital points art).
Sensei Morales has trained with the world's leading
Goju-Ryu's masters. He was a senior student of Master Teruo Chinen,
Chief Instructor of Jundokan International, and also a student
of Eiichi Miyazato 10th Dan, founder of the Jundokan Dojo and student
of the founder of Goju ryu, Grandmaster Chojun Miyagi. Sensei Morales
is presently under the tutelage of Hanshi Tetsuhiro Hokama 9th
Dan, one of the few still teaching "The Old Ways" of
Karate.
Sensei Morales is also a student of Kyusho jutsu
(vital points art) and a certified pressure points instructor under
Hanshi Tom Muncy 10th Dan and Hanshi Rick Moneymaker 9th Dan founders
of the Dragon Society International.
In 1999, after returning from a trip to Okinawa,
Sensei Morales realized his dissatisfaction with the path that
many Goju Ryu Associations have taken (sport, karate-do, no practical
application). He founded The Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate Jutsu Kenkyukai,
an Organization dedicated to researching and preserving the "Old
Ways," and teaching Karate with its original intent--for self-preservation.
Sensei Morales's Dojo advisors are Hanshi Tom
Muncy, Hanshi Rick Moneymaker and Hanshi Tetsuhiro Hokama.
