Dong Hyun Kim (김동현) is a Korean Mixed Martial Artist currently fighting in the UFC welterweight division. Kim boasts an undefeated record of 10 wins and 1 draw in the welterweight division. He was signed by the UFC after fighting in Japanese promotion DEEP.
Kim fights out of Busan, Korea. Kim gained recognition in 2007 after knocking out DEEP welterweight champion Hidehiko Hasegawa in a non-title bout. Kim and Hasegawa later fought to a controversial draw in a title fight at DEEP 32nd Impact, leaving defending champion Hasegawa with the title. Kim decided he'd had enough of DEEP and left shortly thereafter.[1] Kim made his UFC debut on May 24th 2008, at UFC 84 defeating England's Jason Tan by technical knockout. He is currently scheduled to fight Matt Brown at UFC 88.
Kim's post-game interview was grossly mistranslated by his translator following the UFC 84 bout. He was also the 2nd Korean fighter to ever fight in the UFC (the first being Joe Son) and the first to actually win.
