Tim is a 4-time State Championship wrestler from Camden-Rockport High School in Maine. He wrestled collegiately at Lockhaven University in Pennsylvania, while earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
Prior to his MMA career, Tim was employed as a social worker helping children with behavioral problems.
Tim's interest in the MMA came at the encouragement of his college roommate, Mike Ciesnolevicz, who was aware of Tim’s wrestling skills, strength, and overall athletic abilities.
It didn't take long for Tim to prove his potential in the MMA by winning his first fight on October 14, 2006, by submission, and his next 5 fights in succession. During this time, he earned 3 championship belts in two different divisions.
Respect from MMA insiders catapulted when Tim agreed to fight highly ranked IFL fighter, Vladimar Matyuschinco, on just 3 days notice, after six other fighters had refused the offer. To solidify this accomplishment even further, his acceptance to fight came just 5 days after his victory on July 28, 2007, while defending his Extreme Challenge Title. In the end, while Tim lost the 3 round decision, he was recognized as the only fighter to take Matyuschinco beyond the first round in the IFL.
Approximately sixteen months after entering the sport, Tim was offered the opportunity to fight in the UFC, when a scheduled fighter had to withdraw due to injury. Tim, once again accepted the fight on short notice, and proved to a packed crowd of 18,000 fans at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, and thousands viewing on PPV, that he was for real by defeating UCF veteran David Heath at 4:52 in round 1 by TKO (strikes). Those who witnessed Tim's performance on this evening, considered him to be an one to watch in the future.
Tim's skills in the octagon include, wrestling, Jeet Kune Do, front kicks, and knees, and it is his desire to give 110% to satisfy the fans and his dedication to the sport.
