OLOHE SOLOMON KAIHEWALU
Lua

At the age of 3 he began his training with his father in the Kaihewalu family art of Hawaiian Lua.
Olohe Kolomona Solomon Kaihewalu was born on December 2, 1935 in the Palama Settlement of Oahu, Hawai’i. He has 52 years of
sharing the ancient art of the Hawaiian self-defense called Lua.
Lua is the "ancient art of dislocation." The name means: Lua (the art of dislocation) Halau (long house
of training) Kai (sea) lhe (spear) walu (8th) which means 8th sea
of 8th spear. Olohe Kaihewalu
started learning his Lua at the age of 3 years. After studying for approximately 10 years, he began assisting his father as a
Kuma-teacher instructing the Lua to the Kaihewalu family bloodline. He continued his teaching of Lua's
roping, choking and dislocations to Airforce personnel in West
Germany between 1955 and 1960. From 1955 to present day, Olohe Kaihewalu has and still continues to train and teach his family art of Kaihewalu Lua to martial artists worldwide.
