VAUGHN VICTOR MARX
Keichu-Do Karate • Jiu-jitsu • Weapons
All Things Possible

Victor holds a 6th Degree Keichu-Do karate black belt, a 6th Degree in jiu-jitsu and a 2nd Degree in weapons. Mr. Marx was a weapons instructor and an expert competitive shooter in the United States Marine Corps. He has appeared in countless demonstrations for television and news articles. He is best known for his demonstrations of striking speed (7 times in 1 second), also precision nun-chucks and samurai sword techniques.
Victor has trained law enforcement officers and special military personnel from Recon Rangers to Navy Seals, Delta Force as well as C.I.A. He has worked with college and pro athletes. Brian Wilson of the famed music group “The Beach Boys” is included as receiving instruction from Mr. Marx. Over twenty years as a Black Belt instructor, he is the master instructor of their family art of self -defense called Keichu-Do.
The Honolulu Police Department and the city council awarded Victor the highest honor given to a civilian for his act of bravery after he and another good Samaritan responded to the cry of help of a pregnant woman who was being attacked by a convicted felon. Victor incapacitated the convict and held him until police arrived. The man was convicted and returned to prison.
With Dojo’s (training centers) that he personally started in California, Hawaii, and Colorado he has been blessed to have a number of students earn black belts, who have won many national and world championship titles, even a few that turned professional instructor or became pro-fighters. The most important accomplishment to Mr. Marx were that his students could become champions in life.
A special note from Victor: -“ Iron sharpens Iron”
“My training highlights would have to be learning and working out with and or friendships’ with a vast army of great warriors. To many to list but here is an overview of some well known, however there are so many who never made it to the spot light but where none the less fierce and dedicated warriors who help me become the best I could be, to you all, I and my scars, broken bones, and several surgeries give my most sincere thanks
First, to my father Soke Karl Marx. You have often been a misunderstood and complicated Individual. As one who knew you back in the day as someone who was satisfied with being feared instead of respected. I can only say to survive your training or to be one of the fifty or so black belts you personally promoted in over 40 years is an honor for me. I am privileged to call you instructor and more importantly “Dad”. You are now more respected than feared and you still could care less. (Refer to my first statement about you)
My older brothers Tony and Mike. I have still never been hit on or beaten as hard by anyone else than you both growing up. Please note your time is coming as I have decided to let your hard living life catch up with you both and when nature has run its course I will show up for my assured victory. I love you both..kinda.
Jeet Kune Do basics with Dan Inisanto, Richard Bustillo, Larry Hartsell, at the IMB academy in the mid eighties. Bill “super foot” Wallace, Kick–boxing with Joe Lewis, Prof. Wally Jay (he co-promoted me to 6th Dan), rolling with Royce Gracie in his dirty garage in Torrance (before UFC days) Dale “the Warrior” Walker, Kenpo speed training with Mr. Jim Mitchell, Mr. Ron Jimenez, who broke my groin cup with a back kick. the miracle is I still had five kids . Heavy weight Kickboxing Champ Dennis Alexio, (The 15 minute sparring rounds with at the Hawaii dojo.) Relson Gracie (In Brazilian Jiu-jitsu a teacher’s teacher)
Every international fighter and all the many styles of martial artist that came in and visited or sweat on our matt with us during Hawaii era. Frank Shamrock, Victor Belfort, Mr. Carlos Gracie (now deceased), Ms. June Castro, and Ernie Reyes Sr. to name a few.
Also, to the many misguided insecure individuals who came and for reasons one could only imagine forced me to protect myself in my own dojos , streets and, the one and only time at my home.
I thank each one of you. Many of you were not real fighters or were drunk, high, crazed so many were no great victory for me.
Those who were physically better than me and should have hurt me but got hurt. I can only say that I am grateful to God for winning my battles that were beyond me.See Psalms 49? To all of you again thank you, it kept me honest in my technique and what I espoused (like my father before me) to be effective self-defense.
Finally, to the several thousand students I taught over the last twenty years. I think I learned more from you all than you did from me. Thank you and blessings.”
