ABOUT THE HEALING ARTS
The Healing Arts are the opposite end of the Martial
Arts spectrum. They are a critical and necessary facet of
Martial Arts. They are the Yin to the Yang, the soft to the
hard, the sweet to the sour. It is imperative that after training
the student, you have a way of restoring and healing the body so
that the student can continue on the path. This essential
arm of Martial arts can encompass Seifukujutsu, the adjust and restoration
art which is a compilation of restoration massage, herbology and
chiropractic and bonesetting techniques, among other things.
The term Seifukujitsu is largely unknown in the United States,
however it is well known in Japan and Hawaii. Restoration Therapy
has two goals; 1) to balance the energy in the body (the "Ki" in
Japanese or "Chi" in Chinese), and 2) to break down soft tissue
areas of the body that have been injured to allow them to heal
properly. For more than 5,000 years, Chinese medical practitioners
have proven that health problems occur when the body's natural
energy flow is interrupted. Restoration of the natural flow eliminates
many health problems.
