Dave Kovar's Living LessonsThis is for good a friend of mine who is going through a really hard time right now and can’t seem to shake it.

We all have our low times…times when we feel like quitting or giving up on something. This is part of the human existence, but still no fun.

Some people only experience these feelings for moments at a time. Then they are back on track. For others, it might be days, weeks, months, or even years before the sun starts shining for them again.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a quick way to get out of the doldrums anytime you needed to?

For most people, exercise and service are two effective ways to get the ball rolling in the right direction. But when that isn’t enough. When that little black cloud continues to linger over your head and giving up is all you think about, remember this quote I heard from an ultra marathoner who was asked if he ever wants to give up after 75 miles of running, when he still has 25 miles of hard trails ahead of him. He said “Sure, I’ve given up lots of times. I just make sure that my feet keep moving.”

That’s good advice, I say.
